Vacancy Description
The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead is geographically set in a major tourism area with attractions including Windsor Castle, Legoland and Ascot Racecourse.
As a Royal Borough with the Royal Family on the doorstep, it is a desirable place to live and work. There are excellent transport connections to London (30 minutes by train) and the West of England, with the new Elizabeth Line (Cross Rail) opening in Maidenhead later this year.
The Information Governance team is looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual to join its well-regarded, small and friendly team. If you are looking for a challenge and would like to develop a career in delivering Information Governance services in a local authority context then this could be the ideal position for you.
The Information Governance team sits in the core of the council and is responsible for promoting good data management across the whole organisation whilst facilitating the FOI procedure and local land charges searches. You will be trained in the principles of effective and transparent data management whilst learning in a friendly and supportive team environment. This role offers an excellent insight to the range of services provided by local government and is particularly relevant for anyone wishing to embark on a local authority career in any field.
As an Information Governance Assistant, you will contribute to the effective delivery of the Council’s Information Governance services and comply with all aspects of information request processing under Freedom of Information, Environmental Information Regulations, Data Protection Subject Access Requests and Land Charges regimes. In order to fulfil this role effectively, you will need to have excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and a willingness to learn new practices. You will need the ability to work effectively as part of a team and able to work under close supervision.
If you wish to discuss this position informally, please contact Suzanne Martin, Electoral & Information Governance Services Manager on 01628 682935.
