We are looking for either a qualified Educational Psychologist or trainee Educational Psychologist who is on track to successfully complete Year 3 in 2020 to join our friendly, highly regarded and supportive team within Inclusion Services. Achieving for Children is an award-winning social enterprise created by Kingston and Richmond Councils in 2014, expanding across to the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead in 2017. AFC is one of the Department for Education’s eight ‘Partners in Practice,’ operating at the cutting edge of children’s services delivery.

As an Educational Psychologist for Achieving for Children in Windsor and Maidenhead, you will have opportunities to apply a wide range of evidence based psychological assessments and interventions and research skills at an individual, group, whole school and Local Authority level to:

• Deliver Educational Psychology Services both statutory and traded through working with a range of schools, local settings and services, including Early Years, Social Care, Health, CAMHS and the voluntary/private sector.
• Contribute to the planning and delivery of training and interventions to schools, parents, children and young people and other services.
• Achieve positive and sustainable change for children and young people by working with the adults most concerned about them, as well as therapeutically with appropriate supervision with the children and young people themselves.
• Contribute to the broader strategic aims for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities contributing to Education, Health and Care plans and working collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team and local authority working groups.
• Be a partner in the professional development of the Inclusion Service, promoting multi-agency collaboration and contributing to innovative SEMH, Inclusion and participation projects and service user evaluations.
• Contribute to Critical Incident responses in accordance with service protocol.

We are looking to appoint a skilful and creative educational psychologist to our highly valued service. The Inclusion Service has a highly successful track record of year on year demand for a range of services, from both schools and the Local Authority. By joining us you have the opportunity to be a part of developing creative solutions, training and interventions, such as coaching, ELSA training and reflective supervision. We have strong links with a number of universities and are keen to promote innovative projects, including research developments to follow up specialist interests and service user needs.

The successful applicant will provide the link for a small patch of schools across the borough, enabling a broad variety of work, using psychology creatively and ensuring children and young people’s outcomes are always the central focus. There will also be opportunities for co-working with the Wellbeing team and Early Help teams, to develop approaches that build resilience and improve the emotional wellbeing of our vulnerable children. We make a significant and respected contribution to strategic developments and our Partnership Plan through application of research skills, needs analysis and practice-based evidence.

You will need a recognized post graduate qualification in Educational Psychology or will have this qualification in September 2020 and meet the requirements for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council.
