Vacancy Description
We are excited to offer a new enhanced post as part of our collaborative working with health, schools and our SEND team. We are looking to appoint a skilful and creative educational psychologist to our highly valued service of psychologists (including trainees and assistant psychologists), working within the Inclusion Service. The successful applicant will take the lead in advising and supporting the setting up of school-based resource units for complex social communication needs. You will also be working together with health to contribute to strategic planning and training around neurodiversity needs for children and young people.
In addition, you will provide the link for a small patch of schools across the borough, enabling a broad variety of work, using psychology creatively and ensuring children’s outcomes are always the central focus. There will be opportunities for co-working with the Wellbeing team and other Early Help teams, to develop approaches that build resilience and improve the learning and emotional wellbeing of our children/young people and their families.
The Educational Psychology Service has a highly successful track record of year on year demand for a range of services, from both schools and other agencies. By joining us you have the opportunity to be a part of developing creative solutions, training and interventions. We have strong links with a number of universities and are keen to promote innovative projects, including research developments.
You will need a recognised postgraduate qualification in Educational Psychology and meet the requirements for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council.
If you have a passion for making a positive difference, a keenness to improve the learning opportunities and emotional wellbeing for our children, this could be the perfect match for you.
