This is a fantastic opportunity to shape and lead an improving housing service. You will be responsible for the all the Council’s housing services including housing strategy and enabling, housing options and allocations and you will be a member of the Council’s senior management team.
Housing and the development of new affordable housing is a big priority for the Council and you will be empowered to work collaboratively with members, partner organisations and other services to come up with creative solutions and new ways of doing things.
It is a very exciting time to join the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead with our recent residents survey results showing large numbers of local residents are satisfied with the place and the Council. We have a major regeneration programme progressing in Maidenhead with approximately 4,000 new homes (at least 30% affordable) being developed on our own land through our joint venture partnerships with Countryside and Cala Homes. There is always more to do though and your role will need to lead the continued improvement of our housing services ensuring they are customer focused, high performing and achieve good value for money.
We are looking for someone with strong overall leadership skills, a successful track record in housing, strong budget management and change skills and a collaborative and dynamic approach. You will have a newly formed team and it will be important that you have the ability to build the right team culture and ethos that ensures the delivery of the Council’s priorities.

The council is set in a major tourism area with tourist attractions including Windsor Castle, Legoland and Ascot Racecourse and with the Royal Family on the doorstep, this is a good place to live and work. There are excellent transport connections to London and the West of England, with the new Elizabeth Line opening in Maidenhead in 2019.
