Mon – Fri 8am-10am / 3pm-5pm

Actual salary £9,720 pa

20 hours per week plus 3 weeks during school holidays

Alexander School is a small welcoming fully inclusive First School and Foundation Stage with children aged from 3 years to 9 years.

Graded good in our last OFSTED inspection we proudly serve our local community, including our Armed Forces families.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, efficient, self-motivated and flexible person to join our successful and friendly school.

Your duties will include:

  • To provide a clean & safe environment for all users of the school & premises
  • Undertake daily security check and lock/unlock buildings at times agreed with Head Teacher.
  • Perform duties in line with Health & Safety requirement
  • To carry out repairs & maintenance around the school and grounds as required
  • To order supplies as required for school utilities and repairs
  • Liaise effectively with contractors
  • General duties including, incl moving furniture & equipment.

You will need:

  • Self-motivation with the ability to work independently
  • Have good organisational and communication skills
  • Have experience in DIY / practical skills
  • Able to work on his/her own initiative subject to general & specific direction of the headteacher & school business manger
  • Experience in working in a school or similar environment is an advantage
  • Awareness of the requirements of current H&S legislation & good practice relevant to duties of the post.
