The Information, Advice and Support (IAS) Service for Windsor and Maidenhead is a statutory service providing free, confidential and impartial guidance and support to children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and their parents/carers.
We are looking to recruit a reliable and highly organised person to provide business support to the IAS Service. Working within a small but very busy team, you will help shape our business processes to provide the very best customer service.
Taking calls from members of the public on a daily basis, often as the first point of contact, you will enjoy working with people and be able to deal with a range of enquiries in a calm and professional manner. You will support the team in ensuring that the IAS Service provides a range of information, advice and support that is relevant and accessible to local families and contribute to the wider strategic work of the team by maintaining our database and providing accurate reports. You will also help plan and facilitate local support and training activities for parents and/or children and young people.
You will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to respond sensitively in a wide range of situations. You will also need to be highly organised, with excellent administrative skills, and must be able to work within a small team as well as on your own initiative, taking personal responsibility in your approach to all tasks. Ideally you will have relevant experience gained through working in services for children and families, although training will be provided.
The benefits of this role include:
- Ongoing training and support.
- Flexible working.
- Staff benefits scheme/staff discounts.
For an informal discussion, please contact Jean Hobson, Information, Advice and Support (IAS) Service Manager, on 01628 796194.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff to share this commitment.
The council is set in a major tourism area with tourist attractions including Windsor Castle, Legoland and Ascot Racecourse and with the Royal Family on the doorstep, this is a good place to live and work. There are excellent transport connections to London and the West of England, with the new Elizabeth Line opening in Maidenhead soon.
Closing date: 17 November 2019
Interviews: 25,26 and 28 November 2019
