The Royal Borough has recently undertaken a very successful recruitment campaign, however we have an opportunity for an enthusiastic Conservation Officer to join our Conservation & Enforcement team.
Windsor and Maidenhead is an economically resilient and growing Borough which is rich in heritage. Located within easy access of Central London it is an attractive place for business growth and investment.
Working in conjunction with the Principal Conservation Officer and Conservation Officer, you will focus on providing advice and guidance on development proposals affecting listed buildings and Conservation areas and related Policy. You will help to carry out Conservation area appraisals and work closely with local heritage interest groups.
There are over 1,500 individually listed buildings, 27 Conservation Areas, 9 Historic Parks and Gardens and 17 Ancient Monuments within the borough, these structures generate in excess of 250 formal planning applications each year and a significant number of informal pre-application submissions.
This is a good place to live and work. There are excellent transport connections to London and the West of England, with the new Elizabeth Line opening in Maidenhead in 2019.
The council is set in a major cultural and tourism area with attractions including Windsor Castle, Legoland and Ascot Racecourse.
If you wish to discuss this position informally please contact either Victoria Goldberg, Development Management Team Manager (Conservation & Enforcement), on 01628 68 3551 or Sarah Harper, Principal Conservation Officer, on 01628 796446.
