Full time, 37 hours per week • Permanent 

The council is set in a major tourism area with tourist attractions including Windsor Castle, Legoland and Ascot Racecourse and with the Royal Family on the doorstep, this is a good place to live and work. There are excellent transport connections to London and the West of England, with the new Elizabeth Line opening in Maidenhead soon. 

The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead are looking for an experienced Payroll professional to join our team. 

The Senior Payroll Officer will act as the area specialist for all payroll matters, able to process end to end all aspects of our thirteen monthly payrolls. Acting as one of two lead Payroll contacts for government agencies, pension and other third party providers, you will need to think quickly and have a problem solving mentality. Experience of working with our current pension providers LGPS, Teachers and NHS would be a big tick for us. 

The way the organisation delivers its Payroll services has changed over the last few years, so reviewing our ways of working to meet customer needs and acting with a customer focused approach is at the centre of what we do. 

In addition the following areas of experience are key for us: 

  • Line management. 
  • Local authority payroll. 
  • iTrent HRIS system. 

Our Senior Payroll Officers work closely with our iTrent systems consultants and so experience of working on projects is important to us as this team develops further over the next few months.
