We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Licensing Enforcement Officer to join our extremely busy team of licensing officers here at the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead.
Your role will involve undertaking a full range of licensing enforcement tasks and contributing to the delivery of the Licensing Service, working with local businesses and residents to ensure compliance with the relevant legislation.
Dealing with licence applications for pubs and clubs under the Licensing Act 2003 and gambling facilities under the Gambling Act 2005, and inspection of sports venues under the Fire Safety and Places Sports Act 1987 will all be required from the successful candidate.
You will also deal with new applications and existing licences for hackney carriage and private hire vehicles, drivers and operators as part of the wider work of the team. Your work will include working closely with Thames Valley Police and other responsible authorities, and undertaking compliance checks, and test purchase operations, and investigating and reporting under the legislation, including preparation and presentation of reports to the Licencing Panel and Sub Committee.
You will deal face-to-face with applicants and support other licensing team member in their work to deliver the wide range of tasks associated with the issuing and checking of all licensed activity provided under the remit and control of the Local Authority.
Previous experience and knowledge of licensing operations is essential.
You will need to be a team player, able to work to deadlines, manage your time effectively, prioritise tasks and demonstrate good communication skills and a willingness to offer the best service that we can to our customers.
Based in Maidenhead but covering the whole borough, with flexibility to work outside of standard office hours when necessary to enable the needs of the service to be delivered, which will include premises visits during evening and weekends on planned basis.
