For the Long-Term Occupational Therapy (OT) Team within the Physical Disability & Older Peoples Team (PDOPT) in Windsor & Maidenhead.
We are looking for one Occupational Therapy Duty Assistants (Duty OTA) to join our Long-Term Physical Disabilities and Older Peoples Team (PDOPT) OT Team.
We are based in Maidenhead town hall while we are all largely working from home. We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring individual who is eager to assist residents in the borough with residents’ queries regarding physical disability, including age related, needs.
We are a small, enthusiastic & driven OT Team looking for ways to develop the service further. We want to ensure our practice is in line with current changing needs, guidelines and developments and is delivered at a constant high level. We work with adults in the community who require support with their long-term physical and environmental needs.
This Full time OTA post holder will have the main role focus of duty support on incoming queries and needs related to physical disabilities. Their aim is to assist residents with advice, support, and appropriate referrals to a variety of our in-house OT services. They will also be able to assist and meet preventative and minor needs remotely to ensure a timely and efficient support. They will work closely with and are support by the Duty OT & our experienced part time Duty OTA, to ensure correct levels of input needs are quickly identified and referrals are prioritised for the PDOPT OT Team.
The post holders are guaranteed a large scope of challenges and learning opportunities as an OTA. Your caseload will reflect your experience but also your personal set learning objectives and interests. Our Senior OTs, OTs and experienced OT assistants are ready to assist you along the way alongside your regular supervision meeting with your allocated OT.
A rotation with OTAs with a more hands on case load could be considered if both parties are interested. Optalis is dedicated to staff development and potential opportunities for OTAs to apply for OT apprenticeship programmes are currently explored.
The team is working within the Boroughs vision and 5-year transformation plan, and several new OT/OTA projects are emerging to assist with reaching the focus on prevention and long-term support of people with needs in the community.
