Vacancy Description
This is a great opportunity to join the borough’s economic growth team to support the preparation of and co-ordinate delivery of the Council’s economic development strategy and play a vital role in the development of Maidenhead town centre.
Through this role you will help Maidenhead town centre recover from the Covid-19 pandemic through the delivery of a programme of events and business engagement to attract footfall and vibrancy back to the town.
You will work closely with businesses and other stakeholders to understand the current needs of the town centre to inform policy and decision making. You will work with multiple council departments to ensure the town centre is inviting for residents, visitors and businesses.
This is an exciting time to be joining the Royal Borough – supporting the local economy will be at the heart of our recovery plans post Covid-19. Maidenhead town centre is going through extensive regeneration and this is a great opportunity to help shape the future of the town centre and support local business.
You will have a background in events, community building and partnerships. Relationship management and communication skills will be very important as you will need to build key partnerships to deliver the Council’s objectives and targets.
If you are interested in this role and wish to have an informal chat about it then please email Steph James, Service Lead for Economic Growth on steph.james@rbwm.gov.uk to arrange.
The council is set in a major tourism area with tourist attractions including Windsor Castle, Legoland and Ascot Racecourse and with the Royal Family on the doorstep, this is a good place to live and work. There are excellent transport connections to London (30 minutes by train) from Maidenhead with the Town Hall being a ten-minute walk from the train station.
