Weekends/weekdays Casual MSS Registration Officer for Marriages, Civil Partnerships, Baby Namings and Renewal of Vows ceremonies
Working at the Register Office in Maidenhead, or at any of the licensed premises within the Royal Borough, you will be required to register marriages and civil partnerships according to the new Schedule System. You will also be expected to conduct ceremonies after a period of initiation.
You will be responsible for:
- The legal registration of Marriages – for both opposite and same sex couples - which take place within the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. Full training will be given. Successful applicants MUST be available to train during the week.
Additionally, you may be required to conduct Renewal of Vows or Baby Naming Ceremonies.
You must be available to work regularly on at least some weekdays, including Fridays, and at weekends (approx every other weekend in the summer, and once a month in the winter months) on a rota basis, and have a clean driving license. You must also have your own transport, which must be insured for business use.
You must be available for work throughout all school holidays, particularly during the Summer and at Christmas, when the demand for weddings is at its highest. Weddings can take place 24/7 so you must be available to work late afternoons and evenings if required.
You must have good handwriting and excellent spelling skills and be 100% reliable.
Meticulous attention to detail, clear spoken English, punctuality, conscientiousness, an ability to deal with people, together with a proven track record in providing exceptional customer service skills are also prerequisites for applying for this position. You also need to be organised and flexible in your approach to work. Previous experience of public speaking is desirable.
