Achieving for Children (RBWM)

Vacancy Description

Achieving for Children is an award-winning social enterprise created by Kingston and Richmond Councils in 2014, expanding into the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead in 2017. We are responsible for delivering the entirety of children’s services in all three local authorities.

Achieving for Children has been up and running for four years, and in that time, we have established a reputation as one of the leading children’s services providers in the country. We are one of the Department for Education’s eight ‘Partners in Practice’, tasked with leading improvement across the sector.

The Inclusion Education Manager is a newly created post to provide strategic leadership for the Borough’s ambition to improve outcomes for all children and young adults within RBWM schools and colleges, especially those with Special Educational Needs and at risk of exclusion. This role requires an ability to provide inspirational leadership and work collaboratively with early year settings, schools and colleges as well as across educational services and beyond, to ensure a holistic approach to achieving this aspiration.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about ensuring that the most vulnerable pupils are educated in their local education setting wherever possible, feeling welcome and having a strong sense of belonging within their local community. Working closely with schools, and providing effective support and challenge, the Education Inclusion Manager will promote the Inclusion Mark in all RBWM schools, ensuring that Quality First Teaching is embedded and that the Leadership of Inclusion is recognised as being a collective responsibility for all school staff.

Through robust processes of quality assurance, and an excellent understanding of current knowledge and experience of legislative educational frameworks, the Education Inclusion Manager will monitor and evaluate current inclusion services across the Borough. They will be responsible for a team of staff managed by the Area SENCo Coordinator, Inclusion & Access Officer and the Behaviour Support Manager.

Working closely with Parents and Carers in Partnership forum, PaCiP, and others to refine processes to listen to the voice of our most vulnerable learners, is central to this role.

We welcome applications from professionals who have a clear and strong vision for what Inclusive education looks like and who can communicate and drive the work to turn this vision into a reality. This will require determination, resilience, and the ability to inspire others to raise the achievement of all children, whilst safeguarding the inclusion of those who are vulnerable to exclusion and other forms of marginalisation.
