We are looking to recruit a self-motivated individual to join our IT Services department at the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead.

Your principal role will be to ensure the council’s IT security infrastructure, both in-house and within the private cloud environments, are fit for purpose and meet the needs of the council, reflect the council’s IT strategy and are secure, reliable and meet guidance from central government.

Within this role, you will be responsible for the following:

• Corporate security compliance.
• Security risk assessments.
• Design, implement and maintain policies and procedures to ensure system security.
• Be part of the Infrastructure & Application security design.

The role is responsible for the assurance that the risks of major failure or security compromise of all aspects of IT hardware and software used to deliver services are mitigated.

We are looking for candidates with strong technical and service competence with extensive experience of working within an IT department.

Minimum professional qualifications should include:

• Network/security certified –Cisco, Fortinet or similar.
• Security certified –Sophos, Microsoft or similar.
• ITIL fundamentals.

Proven experience in at least two IT disciplines such as, enterprise architecture, networking, perimeter security, infrastructure architecture.

Candidates should be aware the role requires the successful candidate to pass an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
